InteriHotel is Spain’s largest showcase specializing in hotel interior design and a leading event in southern Europe in the contract-hospitality sector.

The next one will be held from 20th to 22th of November at Barcelona’s CCIB (International Convention Centre).

The InteriHotel event took place at Las Palmas De Gran Canaria – the Canary Islands – presenting the latest trends and novelties on Interior Design and Hotel Equipment.

A day dadicated to European networking, started with the SENTINEL outcomes and continued with a pitching session by European companies with innovative technology solutions for the hospitality sector. The day ended B2B meetings between companies and between clusters and companies.

The final event was organized by Torino Wireless Foundation in collaboration with Environment Park and Enterprise Europe Network, the world’s largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions.

What we talked about

The 4 European clusters of the Sentinel partnership have presented the project outcomes and launched an international strategy and the “WELLIANCE” brand that will identify the new SME supply chain with innovative solutions for the hospitality sector. SMEs in the WELLIANCE cluster will present themselves on the most promising non-European markets.

 

The OÖ Energiesparverband / Cleantech-Cluster presented “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technologies from Upper Austria”. Different companies and case studies of hotel Projects were showed.

 

Sara Gabarrón, CWP project manager, presented case studies of two projects. One of them, from the company Keiken Engineering with the project Desalination and Water Treatment at the Hospitality Sector. Keiken Engineering founded in 2015 offers all the experience in the implantation of industrial project. Combining energy-saving technologies with their Know-how it is possible to get important savings in facilities. The other one, the company Lavola with Water Footprint and Watertur Project. Lavola is a service company for sustainability with over 30 years of experience providing solutions in the following areas: consulting, communication and education for sustainability.

 

LEAPfactory presented Infrastructure solutions for tourist hospitality: innovative, ecological, suitable for IT integration. A world wide distribution plan and a strong R&D team.

 

evway is the travel network where you can find your favourite places on the evway App, book your vacation and spend your holidays at an evway Travel Network facility.

 

Enerbrain uses IoT and Artificial Intelligence for a smart use of energy and a better customer experience. Enerbrain presented three success stories: an hypermarket, an office and an hospital with energy savings up to 35%, delivering almost the 100% of time in comfort.

 

Modelway presented Data Driven Technologies and case histories for Smart Building Management as the enabling factor for control, diagnostic and prediction.

 

Smart LED lights manage the consumption control in complete autonomy. The embedded intelligence of the Ecolumiere platform enables a network of lights, achieving a continuous adaptation of the brightness based on the light from the outside environment, ensuring optimum lighting in each area and reducing energy consumption.

The Exploratory visit was conducted by Gianmarco Piola from Torino Wireless during the Future Technology Week in Dubai: it is one of the most important technological events in the Middle East. This event comprises IoTx (Internet of Things Expo) and GISEC (Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference).

+170 exhibitors and +12,000 visitors took part in this edition. During the three-day event there are presented new high-tech solutions, but also numerous conferences, lectures and discussion panels are held with speakers from around the world.

The agenda of the visit included meetings with key players such as, government and research and innovation institutions.

Report: Exploratory mission in South Africa https://cosmesentinel.eu/report-exploratory-mission-in-south-africa/ Wed, 24 Apr 2019 11:03:06 +0000 http://cosmesentinel.eu/?p=567 The exploratory visit was conducted from 26th and 28th of March, during the celebration of the WATER SHOW AFRICA. The Water Show is a unique conference and marketplace where water CEOs, government officials, senior executives and engineers attend to explore solutions for developing investable and sustainable world class water projects throughout the African continent.

The exploratory visit was lead by the CWP – Catalan Water Partnership and there was also the participation of a member of the CWP, the SME Keiken Engineering, interested on SENTINEL project.

Sara Gabarrón, project manager at , took part to a structured business program, to meet key players such as, hospitality associations, hotel chains, government and research and innovation institutions, to develop potential collaborations and cooperation opportunities with different stakeholders from South Africa.

A part from the meetings and visiting the fair, the CWP was invited as a speaker at the Water Show Conference in order to present some examples of the projects being conducted or promoted by the CWP. Taking this opportunity, the SENTINEL project was introduced to the audience during the CWP’s presentation.

Not only the Water Show Africa 2019 was celebrated but also the Solar Show (Power and Electricity). The CWP visited both exhibitions and exchanges information with several representatives from both fairs.

The goal is to expand the markets for the companies associated to the Sentinel clusters and validation of the markets.

Dissemination of water sustainable measures at the touristic sector

Water resource availability is essential for the hospitality sector development. In this sense, water must be sustainably used and managed and several actions to reduce its consumption and management should be conducted.

For this reason, it is very important to carry out awareness and dissemination campaigns for all audiences, either through explanatory panels, videos, talks, workshops or excursions to experience the effects caused by the lack of water by first hand.

In addition, to spread good practices for proper use is also interesting to teach ways of reusing water. As an example, several information boards are shown at the most touristic attractions of South Africa. These panels remain the correct behavior or practices to reduce, for example, the water consumption of the tourists or explain some examples of initiatives that being conducted to reduce the water consumption, to improve waste management or to save more energy.

The 12th annual International Biomass Conference & Expo took place March 18-20, 2019, at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center in Savannah, GA. This dynamic event unites industry professionals and clients from the whole supply chain. The International Biomass Conference & Expo is the largest, fastest-growing event of its kind. In 2019, this event drew nearly 900 attendees.

Christiane Egger from OÖ Energiesparverband was invited as a speaker to the Biomass conference – Track Pellets & Densified Biomass. Her presentation was about “Dynamising Pellet Heating: The Example of the State of Upper Austria”. Nearly 100 participants were attending the session. This provided a very important opportunity to present the Sentinel project and hospitality & energy related case studies. The audience consited of highly relevant actors in the whole supply chain (planners, installers, clients, funding bodies. Having the opportunity of a highly visible presentation at a key industry event is a very efficient approach to target markets.

CREMAI is the heart of the latest trends in hospitality. Cremai’s offer is structured to meet the needs of new openings, existing businesses and professionals. Furniture, glassware, cutlery, table linen, kitchen utensils…

CREMAI is the Moroccan meeting point where the professionals of the hospitality industry can get informed, discover, train, entertain, encourage talent, meet experts, meet international and Moroccan chefs. The fair includes all sorts of hotel equipment, from furniture to kitchen.

Toni Zaragoza, project manager at Cenfim, took part to a structured business program, to meet in person potential partners and local market experts, and to develop potential collaborations and cooperation opportunities with different stakeholders from Morocco.

“Moroccan economy is strongly growing up more than 4% in the last years – said Toni – The development of the tourism and hotelier industry are strategic for the Moroccan government and this means there will be big business opportunities for those companies working in the contract hospitality sector. The event had 170 registered people including representatives from SMEs, big companies, research and technological centres and public administrations, among others.

Moreover, the leaflets of the SENTINEL project were also distributed to the participants of the event in order to achieve the maximum dissemination of the project within the CWP’s members and the water sector.

Since 1982, the Association of Furniture Manufacturers of Jalisco, A.C., has hosted the EXMI, the top business platform for the furniture and decoration industries of Mexico With its two annual editions: Winter and Summer, EXMI has become the biggest furniture trade fair in Latin America. The two editions combined bring together over 900 exhibitors, over 27,000 national and international buyers, and generate sales of over 1 billion pesos a year.

During the exploratory trip in Mexico, Toni Zaragoza from CENFIM, has had a meeting at the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico (SECTUR) with Mario Alberto González Sánchez – General Manager of Planning -, Juan Luis López Ordóñez – Deputy Director of Intersectorial Strategy -, Heliodoro Vidal Velázquez – Director of Program Design – and Heriberto Hermosillo Goytortúa – Deputy Director General of Tourism Promotion. In the meeting, the discussion has been about the “Tourism 2040 plan”, driven by the Government of Mexico, and the future development of the strategic policy “Vision 2040”, in which SECTUR is working right now.

Currently, Mexico is one of the most open economies in the world and the based foreign companies in that country highlight its willingness to do business. Mexico ranks sixth worldwide as a tourist destination and domestic consumption, which sees great growth in a country with 129 million inhabitants.
